Interim Guidance- Effective December 7, 2021 Duration of New Guidance: 6 weeks Context: A new variant of concern, omicron strain, is being detected in numerous countries. Virulence and COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness is unknown. Enhanced surveillance is necessary until the epidemiology of omicron is fully understood. What’s new: two step COVID -19 testing following international travel Policy: Regardless of pre-travel testing, vaccinated individuals returning to onsite work within 10 days following international travel are required to submit an approved* COVID-19 test within 24 hours of entering a UCSF facility.
